The COM system uses the ISO date standard in all its internal printing of dates. This date standard is almost universally used here in Sweden nowadays. However, when we send out mail to RFC822-based networks, we convert the date to the format used in that standard. And in input to message retrieval commands, we accept also the format "3-April" for those who prefer that format. We have delivered COM to some universities in the U.S. and we have been wondering if they would complain about the date standard we use, and require us to make an "american" version of COM with the date format MM/DD/YY most commonly used in the U.S. So far, we have not received any such complaint.
