Here is the fourth version of the modem survey. I just got some
late returns from the West coast. Enjoy.
       The modems surveyed are 1200 baud jobs that **send break**.
For this reason the Anchor Automation 1200 baud is not counted.

Hayes 1200 19- very good 1-good but problems with strong signal
           1-good but hard to hang up.
Ven-tel 212+'s  2 very good 2-very bad 1-ok but some software pain
                1 good but sensitive to voltage fluctuations
                2 good but causes tv interference(!!?)(Ch. 5)
Ven-tel 212E 1-good but can't watch Channel 5
Penril DCD 300/1200 3-verygood 1-ok but flakey 1-ok but pain to use
USR Password 1-good with some work needed  16 verygood 1-not reliable
             1-poor design  2-good 1-good,problems with strong signal
other USR     3-very good 1-good with problems with strong signal
Datec PAL212A 1-very good
other Datec   1-good  1-bad 1-very good 1-ok but ADU stinks
UDS 212LP 3-very good 1-good only works at 1200
UDS 212/D 1-very good
CCS 7710A 1-very good
Vadics 4-very good but lousy documentation 2-very good but expensive
      2-very good 1-very good but poor computer interface and expensive
Rixon 212a  1-very good 1-good with lousy documentation 1-ok 2-ok but flakey
Inmac 1-good
Novation Smart Cat 1200 1-good but sends break in strange way 1-very bad
Cermetek 1-very good 1-bad
Multi-tech mt-212ah  1-very good but expensive
