[micro.ibm] Household hint for half-height drives

   When installing half-height drives in an ibm pc one must play tricks
with cables when the total number of drives is > 2. You must get a power
splitter cable; this is no problem as the whole works fits inside the
system unit. The untidy part is the ribbon cable you must plug into the
D-connector on the back of the disk controller card and run back into the
system unit. Most of the folks I know who have done this have cut a hole
in the back of the system unit with a hacksaw ( new definition of hacker?)
A neater solution is to place the cable directly above the power switch
and then slide the cover on. There's just enough room for the ribbon
cable to fit without binding.
