We are currently using HPLJII with word Perfect 5.0 (Apr 89 maintenance release)
with the Pacific Data 25-in-1 cartridge. Am happy with the cartridge but not
with the drivers that Pacific Data supplied. The supplied us with a driver
wprint5.all which wound not install itself in WP5. Same with two replacement
drivers Pacific Data sent us. The same for wprint5.all downloaded from the
WPCorp BBS in Orem, Utah. In fact all four wprint5.all's have the same size,
date and time. We were finally able to get the Pacific Data cartridge to work
on a different 34d party driver, wprint15.all, also downloaded from the WPCorp
BBS. But, this driver does not contain the landscape fonts which we know are
there.
Has anyone else experienced similar failure, or even success, either with
Pacific Data's drivers or WPCorp's for this cartridge. We need the landscape
fonts. Hardware has included IBM PC's and a Zenith Z248.
When I try to look at the driver with the PTR.EXE PROGRAM, I get a
"program too big to fit in memory" message, even though one of the machines
has 640K system memory and 1 meg expanded memory and has had all TSRs removed.
