[net.misc] more wombat statistics

fish@ihu1g.UUCP (Bob Fishell) (01/20/84)

I've done some additional checking, and I discovered that 46 of the last
236 articles now in net.misc at this installation are also "wombats."
This is about 20%, which is better than the 30+ % in net.flame, but still too
much. I propose we form a net.wombat newsgroup after all, just to get this
garbage off the more general channels.

In the meantime, I'd like to ask those of you who insist on submitting
"wombats" to rotate them first, so as not to offend those of us who don't
want to read them. The best way to do this is to write them on a piece of
paper, drop them in the nearest commode, and push down the handle. This
will result in counterclockwise rotation in the Northern Hemisphere,
clockwise rotation for those of you who live Down Under with the wombats.
It will also assure that the articles will be posted to the correct newsgroups.

Looking for allies...

I propose that the wombat discussion remain in net.misc, but that
net.wombat.flame be created for all those deluded wretches who think
there could be something more worthwhile than wombats to discuss in net.misc.

If you must post wombat flames to net.misc, please rotate them so that
they will not offend us wombat lovers.

"Take my wombat -- please!"
