This may be of some interest. Yesterday, our system administrator, who is
also our CSNet administator came into my office to show me the latest list
of CSNET sites. There was site named "Israel", which is Hebrew U. in
Jerusalem.
They were listed as not on line yet. When they become actively on line, I
will announce it here.
Before I get deluged w/mail from people w/friends at Hebrew U.:
1) Gatech CANNOT relay stuff through to CSNET that comes in over uucp.
This is a policy decision (no money for the phone bills), and it is
enforced by the CSNET software. You and your site administrators will
get nasty letters if you try it. Sorry about that, but c'est la vie.
(We also cannot forward stuff into the ARPANET via CSNET. This is the
way the CSNET software comes, not a local mod.)
2) I do not know, and have no way of finding out, if Hebrew U. has any
connections to other sites in Israel (e.g. Technion).
3) I do not know, and have no way of finding out, if they will also join
the Usenet. I would hope that they will, but have no way of knowing.
