When I was in the sixth grade, our Sunday School class attended a model Seder at a nearby synagogue. My father happened to be the teacher at the time, and he mistook the term "model Seder" for a name in itself. While we were there, my father asked the Rabbi if it was true that this was the actual religious ceremony. The Rabbi responded somewhat tactlessly by exclaiming, "Oh no!", and then went on to explain the esoteric nature of the Seder. Thus, this gesture of good will and understanding ended up being ambivalent in its import. Lew Mammel, Jr. ihnp4!ihuxr!lew
