Mr Ben David and I have had some discussions on and off the net on a variety of topics during the course of which he has maligned me in several ways. This remark you have quoted has been my most severe response ( hardly a flame ). I fail to see the proselyte in me coming out here ( Is this your best example ?) However, "I am what I am by the Grace of God." (That is a quote from about 60 CE from certain Pharisee name Saul of Tarsus) Does that qualify ? Seriously, Joe (and other Jewish persons for whom he presumes to speak) is net.religion.jewish meant to be analogous to net.women.only ? I never got that impression when this group was chartered. Don't forget Joe that Jimmy Carter got into a lot of trouble when he started shoveling that "ethnic purity" jazz. Surely if it is I will hear about it ! Before you issued this rebuke I had posted an article entitled "Judaism and Polygamy". Read it carefully Joe to see if you can find the hidden prosyletizing skillfully embedded between the lines.:-) You know it is ironic. We "religionists" have an unfailing foe over in net.religion named Rich Rosen. But I never for one second ever suggest that he take a hike from the group although he proselytizes unstintingly for his Rationalism. And here I defend myself in semi- rational discussion ( you know ..somebody calls you a Bigot and implies your a double B Blasphemer.) and get creamed by Abeles as a prosyletizer "Can you say proselytize ?"
