After 6 days (4 days remaining), I have gotten 55 replies. I'll wait
until your answers are completely in before revealing any further results.
One thing: Many people are sending me discussions of the issues. I guess
that writing up discussions helps a person to collect his or her thoughts
and convinces him or her that the position taken is defensible. So that's
OK with me. But you don't have to do this if you don't want--I won't
challenge your answers. So just let me know your feelings on the issues.
But it would be nice if you could sum it up in a yes/no/{can't say} answer.
And, to repeat a prior message, even if you aren't interested in giving
an opinion on some or all of the questions, it would be interesting just
to know that you as a person in your own right are reading the newsgroup
with interest--and that you don't think you should be advising others what
to do on these particular questions.
