I learned this morning that tomorrow (Jan 3) is supposed to be a minor Fast Day lasting from about 5:09 am to 5:09 pm (EST). What does the day commemorate? Would someone who knows please post some information to the net. Thanks. Ken Wolman Bellcore @ Livingston whuxi!ktw

The fast of the 10th day of Tevet (this year on Jan. 3) commemorates when Nevuchadnetzar king of Babylon started the siege on Jerusalem. This was was the first stage of the destruction of Jerusalem. For complete details see Kings II Chapter 25.
