A bit of filler on that posting from the Technion:

I've been corresponding over the past week or two with Ephraim Silverberg.
Although we in North America didn't know it, the Technion
and other sites in Israel receive netnews. However, the
access to BITNET for Technion students may have just been
cut off for good, so we may not see any more postings.
However, I understand they still have read-only access
to the net.

I too have been corresponding with Ephraim in Israel. I have
included below an excerpt from his most recent letter to me :

" As of Tuesday, Bitnet (my network) will be unreachable to student
accounts and therefore I shall be unable to write letters outside of the
Technion although I'll be able to receive letters. Therefore, I leave to
you the job of putting Judaism into net.religion.jewish. I have very
much enjoyed corresponding with you and I want to wish you much success
in the future. Please send me your postal address. By the way, I tried
posting to net.religion.jewish by mail telling people to write me if it
works; if it does work please post a note explaining why I'm not writing
people back. Keep up the good work on net.religion.jewish.

                           Hazack V'Ematz,
                           Your friend,
                           Ephraim Silverberg "

Good to know we're read the world over.
