No double standard, just a rational standard.  No attempt to squelch
any "discussion from an halachic perspective," just an attempt to
subject the conclusions which certain people claim to be required 
by halacha to open discussion.  There's a big world out there, son!

By the way, as the great talmudic scholar R. W. Emerson once put it,
"Consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds."  Boy did he know which
end of the sefer was up!
