If so, join us at the Freedom Workshop for a new perspective. Lectures and Workshops include: 1. A Do-it-Yourself Guide to Reliving, Not Remembering. 4. The Haggadah: Instructions for the Spiritual Gourmet Learning to appreciate the classical account of exile and redemption. 5. A Practical Guide to Passover Observance: What do we eat? What don't we eat? Spring cleaning or spiritual renewal? 6. Between Man and God: A Jewish Theology Messiah, Afterlife, Divine Providence, Revelation, Mysticisim. 7. Men, Women and Judaism: Harmony or Discord? Marriage, Family, The roles of men and women. 8. Passover in the Classical Jewish Texts: In--depth analysis of Biblical and Talmudic texts relating to Passover. Since December, 1982, the Jewish Learning Exchange has sponsored "A Rediscovery of Judaism" a series of hotel-based seminars in basic Judaism which have attracted over 1200 participants. In response to a growing demand for additional programs, the J.L.E. is sponsoring a unique 3-day seminar in Jewish thought with a particular emphasis on the holiday of Passover. "A Freedom Workshop: The Real Meaning of Passover" will be centered around the traditional Shabbat experience and will provide a stimulating weekend of Jewish philosophy history, law, Talmud and Biblical studies as well as an in-depth analysis of all aspects of the Passover experience. Participants will be given the opportunity to choose from among several classes on both Beginner and Advanced levels. The classes will also be supplemented by special lectures, discussions and open question-and-answer sessions. In addition the communal atmosphere in a hotel setting provides ample opportunity for tutoring and informal contact with staff members who are readily accessible. Who May Apply The program isdesigned for Jewish men and women of allages and Judaic studies backgrounds. Participants at previous programs have included individuals with no previous Jewish learning whatsoever, students, professionals, retirees, and couples with children. Cost $165 per person. Includes tuition, meals, and room -- double occupancy. Some scholarships are available. If you require financial aid, please explain on the application.
