[ Y. Samet] > Let me remind you that this is net.jewish.religion and not > net.religion.jewish.orthodox (or net.religion.jewish.torah). > Please do not define other people Jewishness. [Yosi Hoshen] To clarify: 1 - I was not suggesting that anyone has to agree with my concept of Torah or Jewish religion to contribute to this net. 2 - Since this net is dedicated to Jewish religion, it is fair play to express religious views as such. (This is in response to those who insist that proof of the Torah be given before any orthodox view is expressed.) While it is legitimate to question, discuss, and debate religious fundamentals, it is inappropriate, within this net, to require proof of fundamentals as a precondition for any expression of religious views. Those who set such preconditions are ignoring the context of this net by attempting to squelch religious expression, for which this net was established. 3 - If you love motorcycles, and believe in flying saucers, your being Jewish does not make motorcycles and flying saucers "Jewish religious issues" and this is not the place to discuss them. If you insist that flying saucers are central to Judaism and rank me out for disagreeing with you, you need therapy and you need a Jewish education. If you attack orthodox Jews for accepting the Torah, which forbids riding motorcycles on Yom Kippur, you are a nudnik. If you argue incessantly with many people on many nets and never listen to or agree with anything they say, we will certainly get a "rebuttal" of this article from you. However, if you want to relate flying saucers to some form of Judaism you came to the right place. Yitzchok Samet PS - If you're only connection to Judaism is ranting obsessively about sick fanatics who throw rocks at motorcycles on Shabbos, you need love.
