[net.religion.jewish] Cleaning up net.religion.jewish

slerner@sesame.UUCP (Simcha-Yitzchak Lerner) (08/02/85)

In an attempt to get this group to _stop_ resembling net.flame,
I am posting a quote from net.general.newuser - if it fails to
'ring a bell' with anyone, I suggest you resubscribe until the
next time the docs come around (~1 a month):

> It is never a good idea to carry on "meta-discussions" about
> whether a given discussion is appropriate -- such traffic
> mushrooms until nobody can find articles that belong. If you
> are unhappy with what some user said, send him/her mail, don't
> post it.

Peace...

Likewise, condemnation of a person whose postings happen to offend
someone is out of order. Uttering "offensive" ideas is a far cry
from abusing the net.

I remember a long discussion last year over whether Martillo had
any right to post. The current bogey-man seems to be Rosen. Enough,
already!
