I got a letter asking me if my song was a "knock up" of some song I have never heard of about Akiva. I tried replying but mail failed. (I'm not very good at deciphering pathways.) After a second try at mail with a different return pathway also failed.... I don't know what a "knock up" is, but I've never heard the song about Akiba you mention so I doubt if I knocked it up. You also asked if I'd heard someone's song about Judah the Maccabee. I've heard a song whose chorus says "His name was Judah the Maccabee....He fought for our people, so that they would be free." Is this the one you're referring to? The song whose tune I used ("The Hermit") is a song about a (presumably Christian) hermit who takes a bath once a year -- and has a memorable encounter with some ladies -- and a mosquito. In short, I used only its tune (pretty and easy to chord), not its plot. --Lee Gold
