[ ] Ken Arndt writes.... > That is, his reply - if taken as a Jewish person's response - >makes Jews look stupid. And, with the possible exception of Rich Rosen, the >Jews I know (of) are anything but. By the way, a young Jewish woman friend >of mine is trying to convince me I may be Jewish!! Aside from my beautiful >nose, unmarked except for a scar and a bump (but that's another war story), >my uncertain past may have Jewish roots. Ahhh, a child of Abraham in fact >as well as in spirit. > Hey Ken. That's fantastic! Did you know that some of my best friends are Christians? > Mr. Reed >then posted a slander against Jews by way of his silly attempt to express >an objection. > Some day you will learn that there are people in this world who have opinions that are different than those of Ken Arndt. I too disagree with Mr. Reed. Abortion is wrong! However I don't go around, as you do, making a fool of myself. In the Talmud Sanhedron it says that if a man takes a nefish he is not only responsible for the death of that person but for the death of all the generations to come from that person. A reference is made to the story of Cane and Able where it says Ables _bloods_ are crying out. The pleural is intentionally used to show that it is not only Ables blood that has been spilled but the blood of his descendants that will never be. I don't know if there is a technicality that allows the taking of the child's life before a proscribed period of time. But if one does kill the child, does not his _bloods_ cry out? > As for your claiming that "a non-Jewish political >majority should (not) determine under what conditions a Jewish woman can >or cannot fulfill her obligations", well, ever heard of SOCIETY Adam? No >religious group has TOTAL religious freedom in a pluralistic society. Where >the religious beliefs touch upon the prevailing moral beliefs in a contrary >fashion (ritural child murder, stealing, etc.) then the society DOES step in >and say no with laws, etc. It is up to the beleiver to bow or continue and >accept the consequences. > That's your typical Christian attitude! "Those Jews don't want to do it our way? Well, we'll force them to. Besides there's more of us then there is of them." If we have a pluralistic society, as you say, shouldn't you be prepared to tolerate the beliefs of others. I have my beliefs but I don't try to cram them down your throat. And one more thing. "...ritual child murder...." It's been a long time since I've heard that charge. Ken you'll get no foul language or sarcastic sayings with smileys from me. Your last posting spoke for itself. You have shown who the bigot really is. I hope you didn't think that you've changed anyone's mind on this issue with your postings. Even though your Christian friends may agree with your pro-life stance, I don't think any of them would agree with your logic. --- Frederick R.
