What color monitors work with the 64 (and why)? Here's the problem: Our dept uses an Apple II+ with a 19" Panasonic color monitor (TV set without the RF pickup) for classroom displays. I wanted to bring in my C-64 to demonstrate the Koala Pad and KoalaPaint to my graphics class, and I assumed I could connect the monitor output to the Panasonic with no problem. (At home I use a Zenith green screen on the monitor port and my TV set when I want to see color or hear sound.) ***WRONG!*** I got the barest tinge of color and couldn't distinguish colors at all. I ended up lugging my TV to the classroom, a lot more work than I bargained for. It has occurred to me that I've never heard anybody mention color on the 64 except with a TV set or a *Commodore* monitor. What's special about the 64's composite video output that prevented my use of the Panasonic? (Yes, I tried all the combinations of dial and switch settings -- nothing worked. And yes, I plugged in the Apple again and the monitor produced its glorious colors as it should.) Help fill the gap in my knowledge of color video. Thanks in advance. David A.
