SPINACH with MASOOR(MASUR) 1 lb fresh spinach (chopped) or 1 package frozen chopped spinach 3/4 cup Masoor dhal 1 teaspoon lemon juice 1 teaspoon salt 1/2 teaspoon red pepper powder 2 tablespoons of butter Wash and cook the dhal in 1 1/2 cups of water. When the dhal becomes soft, add spinach, salt, pepper and butter and cook at low heat until spinach is done. Before taking the pot off the stove, add lemon juice and stir. Dhal and spinach can be cooked together in a pressure cooker for 5 minutes. Do not add the salt before dhal is cooked. This, like other Indian dishes should be eaten mixed with white rice. P.S. I add more salt since I like my food salty. Salt and pepper can be varied according to your taste.
