[This discussion is continued from net.med.] >> What is it you barbeque as a vegetarian? Soy Burgers? >> I've never tried them because they are rather crumbly. >> Something else? I'd really be interested to know. >> >> Denise - UCSD - La Jolla - California >> {ucbvax, philabs}sdcsvax!sdchema!djo Well, there are two kinds of vegetarian barbecue I know about: one is a prepackaged commercial thing available at an exorbitant price which looks good, although I've never had it. I assume that it's made with tofu or some similar soya product. The other kind is a simple idea: shish kabob without the meat! Just put fresh veggies on a skewer, coat them with sauce, and grill. Does anyone out there know of any other types of veggie barbecue, or any enhancements on the above? --- Prentiss Riddle ("Aprendiz de todo, maestro de nada.") --- {ihnp4,seismo,gatech,ctvax}!ut-sally!riddle

Some vegetarian friends of mine like to take small zucchinni, barbeque them whole and eat them on a hot dog bun. You could also use barbeque or teriyaki sauce. bub {hao,hplabs,menlo70,dual,research}!ames-lm!bub

Re: Refinements to veggie barbecue: Yes, don't use fresh vegetables, marinate them first in oil and vinegar and spices. See the Moosewood cookbook for a recipe. gary cottrell
