The production of many kinds of cheese involves killing animals;  lots
of cheese is coagulated with rennet, which is made from the stomachs of
young animals.  i don't know which kinds of cheese this applies to specifically.

Also, in order for cows to keep giving milk, they have to keep having calves,
which are often slaughtered for veal. (I eat cheese and milk anyway.)
