VEGETARIAN DATABASE AND BIBLIOGRAPHY:
---------- -------- --- ------------

I have compiled a vegetarian database and bibliography for use under UNIX.
Below are directions for using it:

----------
Directions:
----------

Enclosed is an 'sh' shell script containing several files which compose a
vegetarian database. In a clean directory, cut at the dotted line, make the
file executable, and execute it. It will unpack files in the current
directory. Then, read the file README. Don't forget to cut at the dotted
line at the end of this file also.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
#! /bin/sh
echo x - README
cat >README <<'!E!O!F!'
This README file describes a set of files with compose a database on
vegetarian sources. Feel free to use it for whatever reasons you may have.
The author takes no responsibility for the correctness of any information
contained herein. The database has absolutely nothing to do with The MITRE
Corporation. Much of the information is incomplete. Please mail
corrections, additions, and comments, either electronically, or by U.S.
Mail, to the author at:

You should find the following files in the current directory:

	README -- This file
Makefile -- make file to generate bibliography
Cover.tblms -- tbl, [nt]roff -ms bibliography cover sheet
	References.bib -- database for references
Publishers.bib -- database for publisher addresses
	Products.bib -- database for products
	Societies.bib -- database for societies

To create the database and printable files (nroff for terminal and hardcopy
viewing), type the following:

	make

The database is now set up for use with UNIX programs `addbib', `indxbib',
`lookbib', `refer', `roffbib' and `sortbib'. To run `lookbib', do "make
lookbib". See the appropriate manual pages if you want to use the database.
Database keywords are listed at the end of this document. If all you want
is a hardcopy, ignore this paragraph.

To get a hardcopy of the bibliography on a standard line-printer, type the
following:

	make hardcopy

It comes out in several parts, which should be put together to make the
complete bibliography.

To get vtroff output, type

	make vtroff

Give vtroff options as follows:

	make V=options vtroff

Example: "make V=-W vtroff" for Versatec output. This is the default if no
options are given.

File names have the following meanings:
