[net.veg] Brussel Sprouts Cancer Therapy

There has been no little discussion on both sides of diet vs "conventional"
treatment/prevention of cancer on the net of late. The medical community
tends to be rather conservative as a whole about treatments, and they
should be. They are not stupid, and are investigating the effects of
diet on cancer. Here at the U of Rochester's Strong Memorial Hospital,
it was recently found that two as yet unidentified chemicals found in
cabbages (highest concentration in brussel sprouts) do appear to reduce
the incidence of cancer in rats. Most of the people I told about this
said something like, "It had to be brussel sprouts - yech!" No mention
of their effect on already established cancers was made.
