There has been no little discussion on both sides of diet vs "conventional" treatment/prevention of cancer on the net of late. The medical community tends to be rather conservative as a whole about treatments, and they should be. They are not stupid, and are investigating the effects of diet on cancer. Here at the U of Rochester's Strong Memorial Hospital, it was recently found that two as yet unidentified chemicals found in cabbages (highest concentration in brussel sprouts) do appear to reduce the incidence of cancer in rats. Most of the people I told about this said something like, "It had to be brussel sprouts - yech!" No mention of their effect on already established cancers was made. Nemo
