Ahh, MANGOS!!! All this talk about mangos makes me really
home sick (I am from India). Here are some suggestions for how
to eat them.
Anyone eating mangos should accept the fact that they will
have to dirty their hands (without it there is no joy). Also
do not try to peel the skin. Wash the mango thoroughly. You
can cut the two flat sides as close to the seed as possible.
After that you can cut two thin stripes on two sides of seed,
cutting as close to the seed as possible. This will leave with
very little stuff on the seed. The only way to get at it is to
suck the seed. (You must try this at least once!). Another way
to eat very ripe mangoes is to soften them by slowly turning
them and at the same time squeezing the skin. When the mango is
pulpy, open it at the top and suck it like an egg. This is best
for ripe mangos.
By the way, does anyone know where to buy cheap mangos in
Austin, Texas?

P.S.: Has anyone tried homemade mango ice-cream? If there is enough
interest I will post a recipe for it.
