[net.veg] Sugar and evolution

lj@ewj01.UUCP (Leonard Jacobs) (08/07/85)

Is everyone on vacation or what?!

There have been some stimulating discussions on net.kids and net.med on
sugar, but no response from net.veg or on net.veg on this same subject.
Is that because noone is reading those groups or because noone has anything
insightful to say? Or are all the net.veg's sugar eaters who have no comment?

I think we should prepare some insightful comments on the healthfulness
or harmfulness of sugar and present net.med with our conclusions. For
instance, in a non-medical perspective, we can discuss the ecological and
economic considerations of a refined sugar diet. Someone must have statistics
and further information on this subject.

In addition, there has been some mention lately on net.med
of how humans evloved to
their present stature and condition through the consumption of animal foods.
Is this agreed by all net.vegers? For more on this read net.med and let's
formulate some intelligent response to this position. Not flames. Rational
reasonable reponses are possible and suitable since there appear to many
people interested in both these topics.

Looking forward to responses. Post first to followup so we can all read
your comments. I would be willing to moderate if there is
sufficient demand and comment.
