From a standpoint of health and nutrition (no moral high grounding, please), is it recommended that a vegetarian eat seafood? I have some (+)s and (-)s in mind: (+) It's been reported that certain fatty oils present in fish help in lowering the risk of heart desease. Are these oils present in similar amounts in any veggie foodstuff? Have any studies been done where they compared vegetarians versus nonvegetarians? (?) I've heard nutritionists recommend the regualar eating of fish, possibly for others reasons than (+) -- was this message really meant for the meat&potatoes set? (-) What about mercury or other toxic substances in seafood? Are fish grown on "farms" untainted? Are they ever given anything like a steady diet of antibiotics or hormones? Thanks for the information, Nax cornell!nax
