[] I am asking for ideas for a wedding reception music. The cost of bands now a days is BIG. The cheapest that we can get is $90 per hour. With the cost of the rest of the wedding, there seems to be a better way. We have considered tapes, but with the wide choice of music, it will be hard to please most of the crowd. Has anyone used anything else besides a band? Does anyone have any suggestions at all? If anything else we can tape a variety of songs, but that takes time and borrowing of albums. Might be our only other choice. Pat Wegner AT&T IS druca!plw

[] In response to Pat's question about alternatives to a band for a wedding reception, try looking into a solo musician. One friend of mine had a guitarist play at her wedding. It wasn't great for dancing, but it added a very romantic feel to the whole thing and most of the people there seemed to enjoy it. Another possibility is a pianist. A good one can do dance music along with ballads and pleasant background music. You can usually hire a solo musician for between $20 and $50 an hour. Best of luck to you, Pat! Marla S.
