Re: the guy who couldn't get his money back on the power sander.... My sister used to work at Sears, and she tells me that they do stand by the "Satisfaction Guarenteed or your $$ Back" slogan they use. That is, if you go in and say "I am not satisfied with this product, I want my money back" they will return it. (You may have to produce a receipt showing what the price you paid for it was). This is true even if you have abused it, used it for 20 years past the warrenty, and otherwise worn it out. My sister worked children's clothes. She tells me of the times (more than once) when a mother would bring in an outfit that had been through at least 3 kids (and the kids were usually in tow), but had finally broken down (a hole or rip somewhere) when the fourth had begun to wear it. The mother would insist that she expected Sears clothes to stacd up to anything forever, and she was disappointed in this piece of clothes. The store would replace or refund to the mother everytime. My sister couldn't believe it. I did this one time with a set of tires that had worn badly - I beleive it was due to defective material. The automotive manager tried to tell me it was alignment problems (I had just had it checked, and it was fine). I told him I disagreed, and instead of settling for %% off new tires, I was now dissatisfied with the tires, and I wanted all my money back. I got it without further hassle. I then went and bought the next set elsewhere, but have bought Sears tires since. So go try it...it won't cost anything to try. (I am NOT recommending fraudulent attempts to recover for items that you have abused or otherwise destroyed, but rather am recommending that if you have, in fact, not been satisfied with a Sears product, take it in and tell them.) -- ________ ( ) Don Stanwyck @( o o )@ 312-979-3062 ( || ) Cornet-367-3062 ( \__/ ) ihnp4!ihuxr!stanwyck (______) Bell Labs @ Naperville, IL
