[net.consumers] Cancellation Notice

res@ihuxn.UUCP (Rich Strebendt) (03/13/84)

I also got one of those "Cancellation Notice" blurbs ... in the same
mail delivery as the renewal notice for my auto insurance.

I also am hacked off at this outfit, as this is the umpteenth
advertisment that we have received.

I have an idea, however. They give an 800 number to call to make an
appointment to be brow-beaten by one of their salespeople. I am going
to call this number to let them know of my displeasure with their
marketing gambet, then set up a background shell to use the ACU on this
machine to call that 800 number ... every 10 minutes.

Does anyone already have such a shell procedure (so I don't need to
spend too much time inventing and testing)? Are there any legal
ramifications that I should be aware of before starting this process
into execution?

My approach to all this stuff is that I never open anything unless it
has first class postage on it. It's worked so far.
