Mother Jones, as a subscription-renewal bonus, is offering a book titled:

RAISING HELL - A Citizens Guide to the Fine Art of Investigation
by Dan Noyes, Center for Investigative Reporting

the flyer describes it as follows:

Who owns the hotel down the street that's been cited for 37 building
code violations in the last two months?

Suppose your curiosity and sense of justice lead you to questions
like these you can't answer to your satisfaction: how many citizen
complaints have been filed against a particularly nasty policeman n
your neighborhood precinct; has the rate of miscarriages increased
since the county started using a new chemical for weed control two
        summers ago?

RAISING HELL is a handy sourcebook to help you find the answers
you're after. It's a guide to public records and private files, a
lead to information you never thought you could find. Wether
you're sniffing out the dirty tricks of government, individuals, or
corporations, you'll find this 48-page book a prized resource.

Sounds good, does anyone know more about it? Worth getting? I don't know
if this is also the current bonus for new subscribers, but I guess one
could request it from them. However, they are not advertised as 'for sale'
in the latest issue - too bad.

Mother Jones, 1886 Haymarket Square, Marion, OH 43305 or 1-800-331-1750
