Earlier in this newsgroup there was some discussion about how the Citidollars offered by Citibank were not really worth anything; well I found some more problems with a Citibank credit card. I currently have a Citibank MasterCard which I had obtain over a year ago; I never missed a payment, nor have I ever paid a cent in finance charges which should be a good record. Recently I applied for a free gold MasterCard offered by another bank; I had problems obtaining the card because of Citibank. When I received the card they notated that on 2/83 that I received the card and mentioned my credit limit; since that date they didn't make any reports at all. Since they did not say anything derogratory, they nor the credit bureau have any obligation to make any corrections to my record, and Citibank felt they did not need to take the trouble to say I that I always paid promptly. All my other lenders were very prompt in reporting that I always pay on time. What I eventually did was mail xeroxes of my Citibank statements to the new bank and they gave me the card. Another problem with Citibank is the nerules that they sent to their cardholders. One disturbing point I noticed was that if you decide to pay less than the full monthly balanced and incur a finance charge, that the finance charges start accumulating on the date you made the purchase, not the date of posting, so if
