#R:infopro:-6200:cbnap:11900001:000:1095 cbnap!cmv May 1 10:04:00 1984 In answer to your question Dave, I've had at least one videotape machine around me for near to five years now and its been my experience that (depending on the use) a good videotape machine should need to be cleaned only once about every three months (I record 2 MASH episodes and Benny Hill every day) which is something you can do yourself. As far as realignment, I've only had to have a videotape machine realigned once (is was dropped from a height of 3 feet). Most of these new videotapes are rather rugged and you probably won't need any of the services until after the first year. Was this at a discount store (Fretters, Sun TV, etc?) because I've had many discount salesmen at discount stores trying to sell me extended service contracts (even on the Sinclair I bought which I could fix with both eyes tied behind my back!).
