I have heard about lawnmowers that have no wheels, but sort of "float" on a cushion of air generated by a fan. That sounds like fun. Does anybody know about these things? -- Lee Dickey, University of Waterloo. (ljdickey@watmath.UUCP) ... {allegra, decvax} !watmath!ljdickey

These have been sold in Britain for years under the trade name "Flymo". They are easy to manouevre and especially useful for mowing steep banks. Tie a rope around the handle, stand at the top of the bank and move the mower around with the rope. -- From the TARDIS of Mark Callow msc@qubix.UUCP, decwrl!qubix!msc@Berkeley.ARPA ...{decvax,ucbvax,ihnp4}!decwrl!qubix!msc, ...{ittvax,amd70}!qubix!msc "I'm a citizen of the Universe, and a gentleman to boot!"

When I lived in London about 10 years ago, I saw ads in magazines for the "Flymow" wheel-less mower. -- ------------- -******------------- -**********------------- -************------------- Bob Duncanson -************------------- AT&T Bell Laboratories --********-------------- Piscataway, NJ ---------------------- {ihnp4,allegra,cbosgd}!bentley!rld ------------------ ------------
