================================================== I need to buy a new set of tires for my 1980 Chevy Citation (47k miles), and would like to ask those of you knowledgeble folks out in net-land for recommendations or experiences. I'd like radial tires (steel belted?) which will last a long time and give good traction (especially in snow and ice during midwest winters). I'd also like not to spend too much (i.e., get something on sale, but it has to be something of reasonable quality). I personally have had good luck in the past with Michelin X radials on other cars, but other brands appear to be available now at lower prices and/or claim to be better. I'll try to post a summary of responses for the use of others who may be interested. -- Ed Sachs AT&T Bell Laboratories Naperville, IL ihuxl!essachs

I'd stay with a winner; here in sleepy old Bel Air, Md., I can buy Michelin-X from an independent tire dealer whose prices are better than nearly anyone's on any brand. For $20-40, I shouldn't take the chance!
