Dear consumers, This article is to warn everyone in net land of a ripoff that a friend and myself ran into. I received a phone call from Transcontinental Distributing Co., 1765 north high, suite 1200, Hollywood, Calif. 90028 from a Mike Johnson. He informed me that I had been picked as a visa and mastercard user as a winner and would receive one of these five prizes: 1. 24' pontoon boat 2. 6' spa 3. Silver Star Satellite Receiving station 4. RCA Video recorder and camera 5. 1984 jeep To qualify for the free gift you have to buy a years supply of Uni-Pack Corp. vitamins for $298.00. At first glance the prizes all look worth well above $298, but the prize you receive is not worth the shipping cost. The prize is the Satellite receiver that's more useful as a salad bowl. Next they ask for your visa or mastercard number and the vitamins are on their way. It would appear from our findings that everyone gets the same prize, the satellite receiver, which is more like a crystal radio than anything. Also the name ,address, location and phone changes but the routine and prizes remain the same. A word of advice, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. -- Frank Tomlinson John Fluke Mfg.
