[Anyone interested in a new subject?] When the idea of a radio/digital clock/speakerphone caught my fancy earlier this year, I did some looking around and found a seemingly reasonable product called "Davis Clock/Radio/Phone" somewhat less expensive than other products, yet still of decent performance. So far, so good. After several months of use, it suddenly changed its mind about keeping time. Worse than not working, it started ticking off a minute every 50 seconds => gaining 12 minutes/hour => gaining more than 2.5 hours/day. UGH! (I accidentally found that by banging it on the top, it would sometimes return to normal - for a few hours. Problem then returns.) OK, what to do? Check owner's manual: "If problem occurs in first three months, return to place of purchase for replacement." Too late. Check manufacturer's address: "Made in Hong Kong for Alex Electronics, Ltd." (BTW, that is the ONLY place where "Alex Electronics, Ltd." is mentioned in the package, product, or owner's manual.) My current last resort is writing to the *distributor*, whose name appears on the bottom of the box. Haven't heard anything yet. Does anyone else have any experience with this device, or know anything about "Alex Electronics, Ltd." - or have an idea of what could be wrong/ how to fix it? (I checked the label - it indicates "120V/60Hz".) Please mail responses - net.consumers is not on my regular reading list. -- The Ice Floe of Larry Bickford {amd70,decwrl,sun,idi,ittvax}!qubix!lab You can't settle the issue until you've settled how to settle the issue.
