[net.consumers] Directory assistance

pdbain@wateng.UUCP (Peter Bain) (07/31/84)

Bell Canada, which serves Quebec (well, it's ALMOST part of Canada :-) )
and Ontario, doesn't charge for directory assistance to numbers not yet
in the book. It's curious to see someone in North America who does. Sounds
more like the style of the telephone systems in the less civilized
parts of the world (Britain, France, Germany ... :-) ).

US are getting less civilized, day by day. Expect the rest of the world
to follow suit.
