[net.consumers] Anti-perspirants

sahayman@watcgl.UUCP (Steve Hayman) (12/04/84)

I'd like to hear people's experiences with the various brands of antiperspirants
on the market, especially from any of you who may suffer from what
the advertising business calls "Problem Perspiration" (and are willing
to admit it...)

I have this friend, see, and he found that Mitchum stick was the only
brand that worked for him, even though it felt rather gross under
his arms. Then they went and changed the formula somewhat to make it
less gross-feeling only now it doesn't seem to work as well for
me (oops, HIM) any more.

It is to be hoped that we can all discuss this topic in a mature and
adult manner.

The problem with the stick powder anti-perspirants like Mitchem and
several others was that they used to make my underarms itch. However,
I now use the anti-perspirant version of the Mennen speed stick without
problem, it seems to work pretty well. The top of the stick seems to
be a rather sensible shape (about 2-1/2 by 1/2 inches) rather than the
usual 1" radius circle. Cuts out all that nonsense rubbing back and
forth. Two swipes does the trick.
