I just noticed someone mentioning Seven Corners Ace Hardware in net.rec.wood, ans I have to tell my story. I have been meaning to bring in my notes so I can be absolutely accurate about dates but I haven't managed to do so. I ordered two FREUD blades from these creeps on Nov. 10 ( accurate date) on Nov. 28 ( also correct ) I got tired of waiting and called to inquire as to the whereabouts of my blades. I got Chris Johnson on the phone and he announced that he was the manager. He was interested in who had taken my order because "we've been out of LM72's for weeks and whoever took the order should have said so". Anyway he expected his blades in the next day, and would ship the minute they did. Sure enough, when I got the blades ( Dec. 9 or thereabout ) the UPS tag showed that they were shipped on Nov. 29. *This from a company that advertises "home of the one day shipper"* I guess that means "one day when we feel like it. Anyway, on the next Saturday I eagerly put my blade on the saw. Turns out that the thing was warped and sang so loud that it hurt. So, I called good old Chris on Dec. 13 ( something like that ) and complained. He was really helpful, all I had to do was send the blade to Freud and they would replace it if it was warped. I told him that it was most definitely warped and that most retailers handled their own returns on new merchandise. He told me to send him the blade and he'd send it to Freud, and replace if it was warped. I again explained that it *was* warped and that I wasn't interested in losing time waiting for them to agree. He agreed to call Freud and get permission to mail me a new blade right away, and asked for my work number ( This was in the AM ). The next day after lunch I decided he'd had long enough and called again. He claimed that Freud had been calling me for 2 days and got no answer, I'm sure my secretary wouldn't approve of someone accusing her of not answering the phones for 2 days. At any rate I'd won, they would mail a blade that day. On Dec 26. ( precisely) I called again, and was told that they had mailed the blade a couple of days ago. Hmmmm, I thought they were going th send it on the 14th. On Dec. 29 ( I think ) I called again, this time they had mailed the blade " a couple of weeks ago ". Finally, on Jan. 4 ( or so) my blade arrived. *The UPS tag showed that it had been mailed on Dec. 26. Somehow I don't think I'll be ordering anything from Seven Corners again. Mike @ AMDCAD Disclaimer: AMD has probably never ordered anything from Seven Corners Ace Hardware. If they have it might even have arrived in a reasonable time. At any rate AMD takes no responsibility for my opinions.
