Someone once told me that there are stores (in Texas and outside the U.S.A.) that sell Waterford Crystal below retail prices. Does anyone know the name and address of these stores? Noreen Raphel AT&T ISL 11900 N. Pecos Denver, Co 80234 (303) 538-4073

Try: Shannon Mail Order Shannon Free Airport Ireland Write for a catalog. We've bought from them a number of times with good results. Their prices are substantially below what you'll find locally for Waterford. When your package arrives, you'll have to pay duty on it--but the prices are still lower. They also carry Royal Doulton, Wedgwood, Spode, Belleek, Limoges, Aynsley, Hummel, Lladro, and other good brands from the British Isles and the continent. -- Dick Dunn {hao, ucbvax, allegra}!nbires!rcd (303)444-5710 x3086 ...A friend of the devil is a friend of mine.

Two places in Ireland that have big mail-order business, and specialize in Waterford Crystal, are: Cash's [big dept store] Shannon Airport Duty-Free Store Cork, Ireland Co. Clare, Ireland Sorry I don't have full mailing addresses, but any mail should reach them with that much information. Waterford Crystal is much cheaper in Ireland than the US, particularly now that the poor Irish Pound is worth only 98 cents - compared to about $1.40 a couple of years ago. A word of caution, however: their quality control isn't what it used to be, and sending flawed crystal back and forth across the Atlantic could get to be rather tiresome. I'd rather pay a bit more and choose my own pieces at a store here... Good luck! -- rod williams ------------------------------------------- [decvax!decwrl!amdcad!dual!ptsfa!ptsfc!rjw]

Yes, we've had the same experience, ordered a Waterford pitcher from Cash's and received one with bubbles in the glass and a bottom that was not flat. We returned it and did not try to re-order from them. -- Ed Sachs AT&T Bell Laboratories Naperville, IL ihnp4!ihuxl!essachs
