Does anyone out there have some good info on down comforters?

The ones that I've seen have either been 95% feathers or cost $300+.
I figure there must be a discount place or an importer who would
sell them for a more reasonable price.

Also, I would be interested in hearing any reports on how well they
work or any other pertinent info such as brand names.

Thanks in advance.

We bought a WOOL comforter last year from Landau which imports from
Iceland. It cost about $140 for a double (queen size?) and is plenty
warm. I can provide more details if anyone wants them.

Check out the Consumer Reports issue of about one or two months ago.
They did an article on comforters, down and otherwise. Their results
are surprising... the very best comforter was an LL Bean for about $300,
but close to it was one just over $100. Read the article for more info,
of course.

I love mine! But it was a gift, so I'm not sure what it cost.

Bamberger's sells them for about $100 (regular) and $200 (overstuffed). I lucked
out and found an older model amoung some (95%feather+5%down) for $40. (king sized,
at that)
