[net.consumers] Zone Heating

I am purchasing a house in the Seattle, WA area. Instead of traditional centralforced air heating, the house is equipped with individual forced air electric
heating units in each room. The Seattle area averages between 35 and 40 degreesF over the winter. I have been told these units are more efficient than centralheating. Has anyone had any experience with this type of heating? I realize
that in some areas the cost of electricity would make central forced air gas
heat less expensive than electric of any kind. This is the Northwest where
we have electric rates lower than average.
