I have an ultrasonic humidifier made by Biotech model BT200. At least once a week I have to clean it because a brownish slime forms on the insides. I have seen a "revised edition" of the same model that has a "bacterial" filter in it. Does anyone know whether this will cure the problem? Assuming that I can't retrofit, would installing a water purifier such as the WaterPik Instapure or Conair version of same, do any good? How often do you really have to change the filters? Can you taste the improvement? Send me mail, and if there is sufficient interest I will repost to the net.
