 Your best bet may be the Sears Rec vechicle and camping catalog. They have
a lot of 12VDC appliances as well as some solar panels that are designed to
recharge a car battery during the day. At least it gives you a good ideal of
the prices.

 The last time I checked solar cells were just barely at a break even point
for energy. This means it will generate enough energy during its lifetime to
make another cell. The only time that they make any economic sense is when
the application is not close to the power grid. Otherwise going off line is
only a symbolic gesture. But if it makes you feel good then do it.
