[net.consumers] Info on Lawnmowers and Refrigerators wanted

johnnyr@ihu1m.UUCP (John R. Rosenberg) (04/01/85)

I just bought a house in December knowing that the fridge
that came with it was old and would have to be replaced soon.
I also need something to keep that pesky green stuff that
grows all over my property at bay.

Does anyone have information on either refrigerators
or lawnmowers? I'm looking for a fridge in the 19-20 cubic
foot range in the conventional style (freezer on top). It
should also have closed compartments for meat, fruit and veggies
etc. Icemaker and water dispenser are unneccessary frills that
I do not want. I am interested in models with proven reliability
that will last for the next 8-10 years.

As far as lawnmowers go, I've pushed a lot of them in my day, and
one seems pretty much like the next. What I am looking for is
a machine that will not break down once a year, that I can
get parts for and repair myself if (infrequently) needed and
that does a good job cutting grass. It should deal well with
heavy or wet grass (i.e. not stall every 5 feet).
Side bag or rear bag? I don't know. What are the advantages?

Please respond directly to me, and I will summarize to the net
any information I find.

Thanks.
