We got our grill a few months ago. The vent system works fine and so does the grill. I had no trouble grilling chicken pieces on it but I turned them fairly often ( every 5 minutes or so) and grilled fish steaks (halibut and salmon) are sensational.

One problem I haven't seen mentioned about the Jenn-Air Grills is the design of the venting system in winter. My mother bought a house about 7 years ago in Indianapolis and it came with a Jenn-Air grill. In the winter very cold air pours into the kitchen from the vent for the smoke. Her final solution was to cover the vent when not in use to prevent the draft. I assume the vent is similar to the ones for dryers, i.e. a flap that closes when air is not being exhausted thru the vent but I haven't checked. -------------------------------------------------------------- Brent E.
