Will, these operators are no more insulting to women than to men.  The
non-working member could easily be male (though traditionally this hasn't
been the case, as you say).

No.  Therefore, why should only the feminists protest?  Why shouldn't the
John Birchers be out there on the streets making noise, just as much?  They
are also limited by these hours, if single. (And, with the rising
consciousness of our society, many of them _are_ single! (-:)

I shop where proprietors offer extended hours.  I can't say I'm too
concerned about the proprietors who don't want my business.  I don't
think many of them will be in business very long because of the changing
demographics.
