Apparently here in New Hampshire it is traditional not to take
a lawyer with you to a closing unless there are problems expected.
That's what my real estate agent told me and also the bank loan
officer.  I was skeptical, so I called my lawyer.  He concurred,
saying he saw no reason for his being there.  His advice cost
me nothing and cost him a potential fee.  I'm not saying it's a
good idea, just that it does seem to be the custom here in the
woods.
