I need to replace my oil furnace :-( with a new furnace and would like to know which is better, gas or oil? Our present system is forced hot air with a separate central air conditioner that ties into it (somehow). We live in the city and have a capped (but usable) gas line in our basement which is about 50 feet from the present furnace. I live in North Carolina in a fairly well insulated house (at least forrt this part of the country). Also, all the duct work is in place and is insulated and in good shape. Also, if we go with gas, can we sell the 200 gallons of oil left in our tank? Please mail me your opinions and I'll summarize if there's enough response. Please include as many supporting facts as possible (e.g. cost of fuel, equipment, installation and maint., efficiency, cleanliness, etc.). Thanks in advance! -- Ned Robie {decvax,akgua}!mcnc!rti-sel!scirtp!ned
