[net.consumers] Toll Free Directory Available

rosen@gypsy.UUCP (12/11/85)

While everybody is on the subject of long distance, I thought that I would
make note of this fact which I just learned of. It is possible to obtain a
copy of a toll free directory, in other words, a directory which lists all
of the public 1-800 numbers. Sounds great, but the cost for a
business-to-business directory is $14.95+tax and the consumer edition is
$9.95+tax. It may be worth it to some people even though you can always
call 1-800-555-1212 for free assistance for toll free numbers.

If you are interested in this directory, you can get more information by
calling 1-800-242-4634.

At least for the consumer edition, stay away. I bit on this, and consider it
a waste of money. It is not a white pages, but rather a yellow pages -
businesses pay extra to be included. I found very little useful in it.
Stick to the 800 number above.
